Aks Arts was founded in 2009 to create a sense of identity and recognition through performing arts.

Aks is at the heart of social transformation: provoking conversations, pushing boundaries and reinvigorating culture by bringing contemporary theatre to the London stage. We have created several sell-out shows, garnering the attention of a range of British and Indian newspapers including the Independent, the Guardian theatre blog in London and the Asian Age in New Delhi.

Neha
Jain

Founder and Creative Director, Neha loves calling the shots and connecting people. She grew up in India on a steady dose of dance and drama, and her love affair with the stage started with her first stage performance at the age of 5. Banker by day and artist at heart, she is a trained dancer (Kathak, Jazz & Salsa) and has recently authored a children’s storybook. Neha believes that a truly successful person is one who understands the potential of her power - personal and professional - to transform lives.

Ankur
Chopra

Founder and Production Director. Ankur Chopra is counterbalancing sense of logic and pragmatism - tinged with oodles of humour - that keeps Aks afloat. Ankur was born into drama with both his parents active in the Delhi theatre scene since the 1980s. In addition to being the co-founder of Aks, Ankur also has also played multiple characters on stage and manages the budget and back-stage responsibilities during most productions. He has taught Shakespeare to children and been a patient co-director/coach to many of Aks’ newer performers.

Aks awakens communities to social awareness and connects them more closely through the medium of entertainment.

Aks has collaborated with Action for India’s Development and was instrumental in helping them set up their London chapter. Aks is working with NGOs such as People’s Power Collective to create innovative social and educational radio plays to reach out to rural India.

"Aks gave me a platform to be who I always wanted to be - an actor, a director, a thespian. It is a great collection of talented individuals full of artistic energy, willing to do all it takes to put up a play. We were all equals, all pursuing the same goal no matter how large our roles were".

Award-winning actor Charan Singh started his acting career with Aks, before embarking on a successful movie career.
